ABOUT ABOUT

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE 12-week research-based program that supports cancer survivors in regaining their physical, emotional and spiritual strength. Adult survivors are eligible to join the program during all stages of recovery. The program also embraces the families and caregivers that have been affected by the disease by providing a free family membership for the duration of the program.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA has gained much momentum in its first 7 months, serving over 60 cancer survivors at our downtown York and Shrewsbury branches.

Our goal for the Gala is to raise dollars to support the continuation of this program. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA helps us to strengthen our commitment to our mission of building healthy spirits, minds and bodies for ALL. Our goal and hope is to serve as many survivors as possible; the success of this signature event is critical to achieving that goal. We aim not only to help LIVESTRONG at the YMCA participants continue to survive and thrive but to ensure that the program itself is a survivor, too.
